Well, let’s just get this out of the way: this is not a Meatless Monday post. While we’re clearing things up, let me also add the following: this is delicious.

Today, I have another “re-shoot” recipe from waaaaay back. This is one of the first recipes I ever blogged (I started blogging in March 2008, and this was originally posted April 8, 2008). Woah baby. It’s another one that makes me a little itchy to look at. It’s WAY past time to re-visit it!

Temperature is relative. The 90s, my friends, feels cool and refreshing compared to the 100+s. We finally dropped into the 90s this weekend, and I’ll admit, I did a happy dance. Still, temperature is relative. And the 90s are still hot. Which is why I’m celebrating fall with a chopped salad instead of soup.

Happy Birthday, Dad! I love you! It’s been the Summer of the Peach for me this year. I typically choose nectarines over peaches (because the fuzzy peach skin is too much hassle to remove), but this year good, juicy nectarines seem to be in short supply in my neck of the woods. Or desert. As [...]

Last week, however, the wind brought with it some chilly weather and a few storms that gave us some much needed rain (and even a little hail!). Since [...]

I love that Michael loves to eat and I love when he challenges me to go outside of my cooking comfort zone. Steak is outside my comfort zone! I cannot remember ever eating it in my home growing up, and I’ve only really learned how to cook it in the last year or so, in [...]

I have a deep and abiding love of New Orleans/Cajun food. It’s only gotten stronger with each recipe I’ve tried. Nerd alert: I’ve been more excited about Mardi Gras since I saw the Disney movie Princess and the Frog. The way they talk about Cajun food in that movie makes me want some every time [...]
