101 Things Progress

June 15, 2015 by Emily 1 Comment

101 Things to Do in 1001 Days >> Live an Adventure! (via One Lovely Life)

This has been a mighty fine summer so far. We are swimming up a storm, enjoying all the gorgeous summer produce, and eating all the popsicles we can. I was checking some things off our 101 Things to Do in 1001 Days list and realized I hadn’t done an update in a while. Here are a few things we’ve done lately…

Swim Lessons // One Lovely Life

#12. Take swimming lessons.

I talked about this here, but swim lessons have been a game-changer for our family. Last year, Sophie wasn’t safe at all around water and Milo hated the water. Big time. This year, we’re able to go swimming almost every day (even though no one is fully independent). When I’m alone with both kids, we use our favorite floaties. They’re not fool-proof, but they keep everyone upright and give me enough help to keep everyone afloat.

#43. Complete a No Spend Month.

Never fear, this isn’t a month where we didn’t spend at ALL. No spend month is no extra spending month. We paid bills, tried to use up lots of the food in our freezer and pantry to keep our grocery bill low, and not spend money on extras. Know when a great month to do this is? The last month of grad school, when there isn’t a drop of extra money in the budget. Go figure.

#54. Get a full check-up (Michael).

One wonderful benefit of Michael’s new job is health incentive programs. I haven’t had an annual check-up this year, but Michael got his taken care of last week. Now I need to get mine done…

New Running Shoes! // One Lovely Life

#55. Get new running shoes.

It had been far, far, far too long. I’m not really a big runner. I am a slow runner, who punctuates spurts of jogging with lots of walking. But these work like a charm and didn’t cost a million dollars. They’re actually just an updated version of my last pair (which I loved).

Dairy Free Ice Cream // One Lovely Life

#59. Make homemade dairy free ice cream.

These recipes will be coming soon, but woah, baby. Turns out dairy free ice cream (that’s naturally sweetened!) can be super delicious.

p.s. I get asked every year, but our favorite ice cream maker is this one.

Graduated! // One Lovely Life

#84. Graduate from MBA school.

We’ve talked and celebrated this to death, but WOOT. We’re done!!!

This goal list is so fun! We need to sit down as a family and make one!
