Five Fact Friday – Happy weekend, friends! Another week down! We celebrated a birthday, read some great books, and passed a HUGE milestone.
“I’m going to wash my hands and of course I will want a snack when I’m done.”
or “and, of course, we’ll eat oatmeal to have healthy bodies”
or “I love my bike and of course I’m very fast because of my four year old muscles.”
5. A big week. Both kids went back to school the week, but it was especially big for Sophie. She started her first week full-time in the typical kindergarten class. She’s been gradually transitioning out of the autism classroom, increasing her time in the typical class as the school year moves on and it’s been JUST the right way for her to make the transition.
To say that I’ve cried with happiness and gratitude about 8 times this week doesn’t cover it. To say I’m nervous doesn’t cover it. To say that I’m excited, and full of joy and overwhelmed and All The Feelings is a little closer to how I feel. She is a constant guessing game in so many ways for me, but one thing I know about Sophie (and just about every child I’ve met who has to face special challenges) is that she is SUCH a determined, hard worker. She blows me away.
And her teachers? They deserve a special place in heaven. They’ve been so incredible. Patient, kind, flexible, thoughtful, and more. How blessed and lucky we have been to have such excellent doctors, specialists, therapists, and teachers in the last three and a half years.
The weekly newsletter comes out tonight around 6pm! This month, I’ve been sharing some tips for meeting goals, setting intentions, and getting stuff done! Today, I’m including the guiding phrase I’ve chosen for the year, plus some other fun goodies. Be sure to sign up so you don’t miss out!
