Five Fact Friday – We’ve been “busy” waiting during this school walk-out! The kids are back to school and I’m checking in today with a little life update. Happy weekend!
A taste of summer.
We got a taste of summer with our extended break, so in between colds (Sophie first, then a few days off, then Milo), we packed in plenty of park trips and a dinner out. Getting pictures of these two together is getting increasingly tricky. They’re always poking each other or teasing or looking in opposite directions.
This picture makes me laugh because I’m sure it’s a foreshadowing of 9000 more teasing each other pictures in the future. #siblings
We escaped just about all the really yucky cold & flu season stuff over the winter, but the spring colds hit us full force the last few weeks. Sophie’s right as rain now, but poor Milo got slammed on Wednesday, and it’s tuckered him right out. The boy who never sleeps has been found more than once asleep on the floor. Ha! Thankfully, he’s finally turning a corner.
One thing I love about Sophie is that she seriously NEVER gives up when something is important to her. For weeks and weeks, she’s been building up arm strength to do the monkey bars at school, and over our surprise break from school, she figured out how to flip off the bars at the park. She couldn’t be more pleased and has announced that she’s “ready to do a gymnastic” so could I please sign her up for classes?
My Baking Buddy
Before the cold of death struck him, Milo was my little buddy for so much of the break. “Mom, can we make a little something?” or “how ’bout we do some bakin’!” were out of his mouth more times than I can count.
It’s not unrelated to report we’ve also eaten more almond flour chocolate chip cookies than I can count, too…
The Countdown Begins
I realized as I was typing this up that we only have 2 1/2 weeks left of school, and that’s IT! Then it’s summer break, and in July (yes, we start in July!) Sophie goes back as a 2nd grader and Milo will begin KINDERGARTEN!!!
I’m trying not to think about it too much, but for now, we’re all ready to bust out the popsicles, smear on the sunscreen, and get to summer!
Happy weekend, dear reader!
Wishing you every good thing!
