Goodness on the Go: Easy Snack Time Pairings

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post written in partnership with BlogHer and GoGo squeeZ. It’s a product I know and love. All my opinions are my own. Between school, three kinds of therapy, errands, and all the regular kid stuff (parks, play dates, and exploring outside), our schedule is pretty tight lately. It feels like we’re always on the move somewhere, and I’ve found that if I don’t plan ahead, I find myself scrambling to put together afternoon snacks for Milo and Sophie more often than I’d like.
I try to stick with the fruit or veggie + something else rule for snack time. It’s a great way to get in some vitamins and encourage more relaxed fruit and veggie consumption. Snack time just feels so much lower pressure than mealtime, am I right? Our longest stretch between meals is from lunchtime to dinner, so I try for something substantial to get us there. These GoGo squeeZ fruit (and Fruit & VeggieZ!) pouches have been our favorite. There’s so little mess involved that I can’t help but love them. Plus they’re non-GMO, have BPA-free packaging, and are nut, gluten, and dairy free. I love that I can stash one in my purse, a gym bag, or diaper bag and not have to worry about the temperature or smashing them. If an appointment runs late, or someone gets “hangry” (hungry + angry), I can pull out a little fruit pouch and not feel the least bit guilty. Bonus: they’re also just right for travel, since they’re small enough to go through airport security without a problem. Like I said, we’ve been eating these for ages. As part of feeding therapy for Sophie (and transitioning to solids for Milo), we worked on establishing a food we liked (applesauce) and expanding it by mixing in something new (peaches or carrots or mango). There are so many flavors of these little applesauce pouches that my kids never get bored.
A few of our favorite snacktime pairings:
- Zippin’ Zingin’ Pear (carrot apple pear) + Turkey Roll Ups
- AppleStrawberry + Homemade Trail Mix
- AppleCinnamon + A fruit and nut bar
- AppleBanana + Almond butter toast (for the kids) or Avocado toast (for me)
Bonus: ApplePeach (My FAVORITE) + veggies and avocado dip) There are plenty of choices to keep us full and happy throughout the week, no matter where we’re headed. p.s. I’ll also say that while we use these mostly for a quick snack or lunch on the go, they also make a great addition to the breakfast table. You can stir a pouch into your oatmeal for a sweet little something that requires no added sugar. AppleCinnamon is our favorite for that job, but the AppleApple is another great fave.

My oldest is in football in the fall and baseball in the spring so we’re always on the go, except in the winter. With having younger ones as well we always have to make sure to have snacks on hand to curb the meltdowns.
