So, I think that picture montages are going to be the best way to catch up from the holidays. Thus, I give you montage 1: Hannukah.
Michael and I decided to celebrate our Christmas together early so that we could enjoy some of the gifts we exchanged before our trip to visit family and for an extra morale boost. It just so happened the day that worked best in our schedule turned out to be Hannukah.
So we went with it.
On Hannukah Eve, we celebrated by doing our version of a wine and cheese setting. We don’t drink alcohol, so we were drinking sparkling peach juice. We had sparkling peach juice, cheese and crackers, and chocolates. It was delicious!
We also re-wrote some of our favorite Christmas carols to include Hannukah-themed words. Michael’s best work: Deck the halls with kosher holly, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, ’tis the season to be jolly, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, don we now our yamulkas, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la, we don’t like no Santa Claus, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la. It was late. Bear with us.
We exchanged gifts and had a relaxing morning together with a big breakfast of gingerbread waffles.
While Michael was at work for a few hours, I finished my Christmas craft for the primary children at church.
It was a great, relaxing day, and we can honestly say…it was the best Hannukah we ever celebrated.
