I’ve been challenging myself to clean out my freezer and pantry this month, so some of the meals we’ve been eating are, shall we say, interesting? Last week, we had breakfast for dinner a few times, and I made a few different smoothies to help clear out our frozen fruit stash.
My favorite was this little peach mango number that tasted like liquid sunshine.
Oh, and did you want to see my haircut?

Thar she blows. I have mixed feelings (Ooh! something different, I like it! Ooh something different, I hate it.). So far, I know my hair is still easing into the new cut, and I think it’s going to be a good change. On the plus side, it feels much lighter and less droopy. On the con side, I feel like my face looks rounder and my hair color looks a little drab. Maybe I should get highlights or go a little shorter? Who knows. I like having more movement with my hair, and Sophie doesn’t tug on it as much. I’ll give it a month or so, then get more texture if I still want it. What do you think?
Back to the smoothie–this made two good-sized glasses. You could probably serve 4 small smoothies if you like. The smoothie was the centerpiece of our breakfast-for-dinner spread, so we just went for the big ones. They’d make a great breakfast on the go, and you can customize them any way you please. They’d be great with a bit of pineapple, or you could toss in a handful of spinach or kale. Enjoy!
- 1 heaping cup frozen peach slices
- 1 heaping cup frozen mango slices
- ½ frozen banana
- ¾-1c orange juice (more or less, to taste)
- Add peaches, mango, banana, and ¾c orange juice to blender. Puree until smooth, adding more orange juice as necessary.

I love your haircut! It looks extremely modern and up to date! I think the color is perfect; not drab at all, and I don’t think your face looks rounder. You look very fresh and more grown up!
I have hair with the same texture and I do have to say that though I don’t currently have highlights when i did get highlights it helped with styling. My hair is really super mega healthy (i.e. I have to wash it every day, thank you super oily fine hair). But the highlights helped “damage” it in a good way. Gave it a little more texture. Helped with curling and body and my hair holding style. I haven’t really done highlights for the past five years for budget reasons but I look forward to going back someday. Anyway, just a tip beyond the look of highlights, they might help your fine hair situation too.
I think it has a lot more body and looks great.
And i want that smoothie. Mango, oh man I love mango.
I love the new look Emily. And I can’t wait to try this smoothie.
Peach Mango Bliss sounds amazing – we are just starting to get the sun back here as spring creeps in and this would be perfect for tomorrow morning.
As for your hair… it looks wonderful! I think the new cut suits your face shape beautifully! I always have mixed feelings about my hair and it is so frustrating that I can never get the same look as the day I have it done!

LOVE the new haircut! Looks fabulous! So bouncy and full – LOVE. IT.
I love your new haircut, it looks amazing on you!! It always takes me a few days to decide what I really think of a new haircut on myself, so I understand the feeling:) But it really does look fantastic on you and doesn’t make your face look rounder at all!
Also, I LOVE mango. I will most definitely be trying that smoothie!
I love the cut. I don’t think it makes your face look rounder, but rather a little more healthy glow-y. And, while I think the color is dandy, I am a big proponent of highlights. They do so much to lift one’s spirits and take something from good to jazzy/sparkly/shimmery. They are a fun option, like you say, if you aren’t feeling the new do after a couple weeks.
Love the haircut, and the mango blisses!
LOVE the hair! I could be a leeetle biased though as I recently chopped off my hair into a very similar style
I still miss my long hair at times (and have the exact same fears as you! Does it make my face look round?!), but overall, I feel more put together with the shorter style. I really do think it looks cute on you! Give it a week or two to settle into the style and get used to the change.
Emily- I love it! It looks great! And great smoothie recipe. I LOVE smoothies!
The mango smoothy makes me feel a little droolie-ish…
The beautiful new fun hairstyle makes me feel similar to what Andrea expressed…It just makes you look healthy, energetic, and vibrant, and the gorgeous smile seals the deal.
LOVE the hair! Not at all face-rounding! It just makes your killer cheek bones more prominent, which isn’t a bad thing. We’ve been on a smoothie fix lately too! This will go great with some green pancakes for St. Patty’s Day!
Your hair looks great
And that smoothie sounds wonderful… too bad I can’t handle sweet right now… Maybe come August, when my nausea will be gone
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your hair! And, I actually thought, from the second pic, that you got it colored as well. I think it’s a beautiful shade of blonde! I can understand the desire to color it, though–especially with summer coming. Then again, if you just enjoy sitting in the sun a few times, it will probably lighten/highlight itself!
Haircut is great – looks fabulous! No need for highlights.
I love your new hair!! It might just be from the salon styling, but I love how much volume your hair has with the new cut. It really gives you so much dimension!
Your hair looks so great and so cute! The color looks healthy and your face, I don’t think, can ever be round since you look like you weigh 2 pounds. And even though your hair is shorter, the kiddos still pull on it; bless them
i love your haicut…. from “pretty, but plain”.. to “very stylish!”
I love your haircut and I love Mango Smoothies. Cool! Thank you.
I wanna make this smoothie …I am gonna get the ingredients tomorrow! Thanks for posting this!
